Graceco White Maize Powder Ogi – 500g | 100% Pure White Maize | Pap, Akamu, Koko | No Preservatives | Made in Nigeria
The classic white pap — smooth, creamy, and deeply comforting. Delivered to your UK door 🇬🇧
White Ogi is the version most people picture when they think of pap. That pale, silky, gently sour porridge — smooth as cream, warm as a hug — that appears on breakfast tables across Nigeria and Ghana every single morning. The food that nursing mothers trust. The first solid food so many West African children ever taste. The evening comfort that generations have turned to when the body needs something light, warm, and nourishing.
Graceco White Maize Powder Ogi is made from white maize (corn) and is essential in West African cuisine — enjoyed as a breakfast meal or light snack, prepared by mixing with hot water to create a smooth, creamy porridge. SPICEography
One ingredient. No preservatives. Just pure white maize. Afrocanmart
The Ingredient
🌽 100% White Maize (White Corn) — whole white maize, fermented using the traditional West African method, then carefully dried and finely milled into a smooth, consistent powder. Traditional West African breakfast staple made from ground maize — just add water for a tasty porridge. The fermentation process gives white Ogi its characteristic mildly sour, clean, delicate flavour — lighter and more subtly flavoured than yellow Ogi, with a bright white colour and silky smooth texture that makes it the preferred choice for babies and young children. White vs Yellow Ogi — What’s the Difference?
Both are authentic fermented maize Ogi — but they have distinct characters:
- White Ogi (this product) — lighter colour, milder and more delicate flavour, preferred for babies and those who enjoy a subtler taste
- Yellow Ogi (Tasty Pot) — deeper golden colour, fuller and earthier flavour, slightly bolder taste
Both are naturally gluten-free, vegan, and free from preservatives — the choice simply comes down to personal preference.
How to Prepare
- Add 3–4 tablespoons of Graceco White Maize Ogi Powder to a bowl
- Mix with a small amount of cold water — stir thoroughly until completely smooth and lump-free. Always mix with cold water first
- Bring a generous amount of water to a boil in a saucepan
- Slowly pour the smooth paste into the boiling water, stirring continuously — or pour boiling water directly onto the paste and stir rapidly
- Keep stirring until the Ogi thickens to your preferred creamy consistency
- Serve hot — sweeten with sugar and add evaporated milk, condensed milk, or fresh milk to taste
For babies and young children: Use a smaller amount of powder and more water for a thinner consistency. Always cool to a safe temperature before feeding.
Tip: The more you stir, the smoother and creamier your Ogi becomes. For an extra silky result, strain through a fine sieve before cooking.
