Ingredients
  • 2 red 2-3 Scotch bonnet peppers (or habanero peppers)
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (optional)
Instructions
    Prepare the Peppers:
  1. Rinse the peppers and remove the stems. Finely chop the peppers, including the seeds.
  2. Blend the Ingredients:
  3. In a blender, combine the chopped peppers, garlic, water, and salt. Blend on high until the mixture is combined but still slightly chunky.
  4. Optional: Add Olive Oil:
  5. If desired, add the olive oil to the mixture and blend again until smooth.
  6. Store the Sauce:
  7. Pour the Pili Pili sauce into a resealable container, such as a glass jar. Store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  8. Serve:
  9. Pili Pili can be served with Congolese stews, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or as a spicy addition to sandwiches and wraps.
