Add the ground pumpkin seeds to the pot and stir well to combine with the onions and chili peppers. Pour in enough water or broth to cover the seeds.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the seeds are tender and the flavors meld together.
Add the Fish:
Add the deboned smoked fish pieces to the pot and stir well. Continue to simmer for another 10 minutes.
Season and Serve:
Season with salt and any optional spices like garlic or ginger. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve the Mbika hot with fufu, pounded yam, or boiled rice.
