Description

Kokonte, also known as "Face the Wall," is a traditional Ghanaian dish made from dried cassava flour. It is often served with a rich groundnut soup (Nkate Nkwan) or other spicy sauces. This hearty meal is popular in many parts of Ghana and is known for its unique texture and flavor.

Ingredients
  • 2 cups ⦁ dried cassava flour
  • ⦁ Water
  • ⦁ Salt (to taste)
  • ⦁ Vegetable oil (optional)
  • ⦁ Any preferred spices (optional)
  • ⦁ Meat or fish (optional)
Instructions
    Step 1 Prepare the Cassava Flour:
  1. ⦁ Sieve the dried cassava flour to remove any debris or large particles.
  2. ⦁ Gradually add water to the flour while mixing with your hands until a firm dough is formed.
  3. Step 2 Cook the Kokonte:
  4. ⦁ Bring a pot of water to a boil.
  5. ⦁ Add the cassava flour mixture to the boiling water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  6. ⦁ Cover and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. ⦁ Use a wooden spoon to knead the mixture until it becomes smooth and thick.
  8. Step 3 Shape and Serve:
  9. ⦁ Once cooked, use a small bowl to scoop and mold the Kokonte into desired sizes.
  10. ⦁ Serve hot with groundnut soup, palm nut soup, or any spicy sauce of your choice.
